Outor Garden: Green City
In this project, designers, architects and engineers bring new possibilities of underground vertical space for human and plants. With the help of optical fiber to transport light underground, Outor Garden is committed to creating a vertical three-dimensional park in the future urban community. We created a new lighting systems based on optical developments. And with CNC automatic planting robots, citizens could personalize their own green space in the future.

How to help cities grow in a sustainable way?
Urban space utilization is becoming tenser, population density is increasing, and resources such as food have become relatively limited. However, high-rise buildings with increased floor space make the living environment of green plants worse, including problems such as reduced living space and insufficient sunshine time. How to maximize the use of space, energy, and solar energy to make future cities more flexible and sustainable has become an important issue.

1.Rooftop Garden-Natural Way
Location: The sixth floor of the library of Hunan Agricultural University.
Aim:Observe existing system working process and distribution
Vegetation layers: 2 floors.
Plant species: about 5-6 species.
Sunshine area: about 1 floor.
Breeding method: semi-automated.
Current status: unfinished, not open

By artificially cultivating different kinds of plants, we try to find the most suitable plant for cultivation in an optical environment.
This plant should also have convenient cultivation, less manual intervention, and low requirements for the living environment.
Case 1 Tobacco cultivation:
Tobacco seedlings in the central and southern regions are raised from January to March. During this period, the temperature and light intensity are the lowest throughout the year in all regions. The problem of "low temperature and low light" is often encountered during the seedling period, which makes the tobacco seedlings grow slowly and the quality of seedlings is poor. Poor resistance and other phenomena.
Case 2 Planting of Dendrobium officinale:
The equipment simulates suitable environmental conditions such as substrate, temperature, light, air quality, humidity, etc., to form a professional and unique “microclimate”, and then uses modern agricultural management methods to control pests and diseases.
Case 3 Solanaceous vegetables:
Solanaceous Vegetables refer to vegetables in the Solanaceae family that use berries as their food organs, including tomatoes, eggplants, and peppers. The LED light source made of phosphor and silica gel with a mass ratio of 1:10 has a more obvious promotion effect on the morphology of pepper seedlings
